Queen’s University Belfast has impeccable nineteenth-century credentials. The University was established in 1845 as one of the three Queen’s Colleges – in Cork, Galway and Belfast – and in 1849 the first students entered the magnificent new college building designed and built by Charles Lanyon. The University estate still includes many nineteenth-century buildings of architectural importance.

The University is situated in the heart of Victorian South Belfast, just a few minutes from the city centre. The Society of Dix-Neuviémistes’conference will take place in the historic quad of the Lanyon Building, and accommodation will be provided in the Queen’s Elms Village on the Malone Road, a 10 minute walk from the campus, or in one of the many hotels in the University area.
